The Silence of God and the Words of God 1 Samuel 3:1-4:1a

bible.jpgWhat if no one ever spoke to you?  How would that affect the relationships that you have?  Would your marriage and friendships suffer?  We need words to function in relationships.  In this sermon, Pastor David encourages us that the sovereign God of the universe has not remained silent.  In fact, even the judgment of God can be a gracious act.  A God who speaks to his people, whether in discipline or blessing, is a God who cares.  Listen as Pastor David explains how Christ has ended the silence forever.

The Mystery and Magnitude of the Kingdom of Christ: What Every Revolutionary Must Know Mark 4:26-34

seed.jpgWhen you hear someone mention the Kingdom of God, you might think about something powerful, majestic and overwhelming. It must be something huge that arrests the attention of this world. Our first instinct is not to point to a farmer throwing some seed on the ground, going to bed, and getting up morning after morning to see if anything happens. In Mark 4, Pastor David points out that much of our frustration about living lackluster lives comes down to an issue of trust. Listen as Pastor David calls us to trust a Savior who chose to conquer, not in a grand military campaign, but on a cross.

Is This Really A Revolution? Mark 4:1-20

sower.jpgThe Gospels tell us that King Jesus invaded this present evil age with the good news of the kingdom. But we still see the dreadful effects of sin. Young girls get abortions. Fathers abandon their families. In Mark 4:1-20, Pastor David explains that Christ has dealt a mortal wound to sin, but a battle still rages. In a sinful world, it looks like a man telling a depressed co-worker that Jesus is the only way to peace. And it looks like a high school girl telling her friend that children are a blessing from God. Contrary to the wisdom of this world, a revolution looks like a farmer sowing seeds and waiting for the harvest. Listen as Pastor David answers the question, “Is This Really a Revolution?”  (From the sermon series, Join The Revolution: Living For Jesus at the End of the Age - Parables In Mark.)
